reflection for week 2

This week, the class was held at the Photography Studio. We are introduced to Mr. Fuad, the professional photographer for UTM. Mr. Fuad will assist and monitor our learning in photography. He has a lots of experiences in photography in more than a decade.

We are first introduced with the type of camera that presented from analog to the present one.To make it simple, camera has been upgraded from time to time from kodak cameras, SLR cameras, instant cameras, disposal camera and now, DSLR camera.

All right, in photography, not only the skill are important but how we handle the camera will make a significant effect on the picture that we take. Sound like a bit silly right? but it is true. (^_^) According to Mr. Fuad, the skill of handling the camera correctly is very important to get a good picture. Here are some guidance on how we should handling the camera correctly.

Other than the posture of handling the camera, We are also learn about the use of ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture.  These three item are the most important element in the photography. Before we proceed further, lets take a look on the definition of these three things.

ISO: Indication of how sensitive a film was to light.

Shutter speed: Indicate the aperture diaphragm of a lens (bigger or smallervalues) and the timing for it to open and close during exposure process.

Aperture: the opening in the lens.

As state earlier, these three element( ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed) are related to each other. Refer to the exposure triangle below.

Hence. the use and selection of these three thing should actually depends on our surrounding and type of picture that we want to take.
